Born in a family of musicians, music is a divine blessing to Pravinji.  He was a child prodigy &  gave his first public concert at the age of 6 years and held the audience spellbound. His father has taught him BANSURI in KIRANA GHARAANA GAYAKI STYLE.

But Pravinji  added the GATKAARI or TANTRAKAARI STYLE by his own efforts and succeeded in it. He is adept in both the styles. He performs  extensively & popular all over the world.

He has many prestigious awards to his credit and he is one of the top ranking musicians of India now.

Shadaj is Pt Pravin Godkhindi's son and Pt. Venkatesh Godkhindi's grandson, so music runs in his genes. Shadaj as a child prodigy astonished his family when he would spend hours with electronic tablas and tanpuras. His acute taste for shruthi and laya was evident even as a toddler.
He began his music lessons by Pt. Venkatesh Godkhindi started his training in flute when he was 2 years old. Shadaj gave his first public concert at the age of 3 years.

From then on he has been regularly performing with his father and grandfather. Shadaj is proud to be the 3rd generation flautist of the only family in the country which boasts of performing together on one stage

Of late, shadaj has been practicing the western drums. He has accompanied his father on flute as well as drums. Probably, the first flautist also to play drums with equal finesse, shadaj is carving a niche for himself as a promising musician. He has already been featured in numerous TV shows as well.

He has performed in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Dharwad, Mangalore, Udupi, Shimoga and Doha-Qatar. He was also featured on the prestigious TEDex meet at Mysore recently.

He is the recipient of “Award of Excellency in Music” by RamSeva Mandali, Bangalore. He has won 1st prize in “Whizz Classical” a national level music completion, Mumbai. He has completed 7th grade exam in Drums with distinction conducted by Trinity School of Music, London.

 

Kiran

Kiran Godkhindi is an established TABLA PLAYER of thisgeneration. He comes from a family of musicians. He started his initial training at the tender age of three under his father Pt. Venkatesh Godkhindi, an eminent flautist and vocalist of the country. Later on he was formally trained in tabla by various Gurus like Pt. Prabhakar Chari of Goa, Pt. NandaKumar

He has been performing for the past 30 years with his father Pt. Venkatesh Godkhindi and his younger brother Pt. Pravin Godkhindi. He has also been accompanying various artistes in many prestigious concerts around the country. He is a regular performer on the Radio and Television.

He is the lead percussionist of “KRISHNA” the fusion band led by Pravin Godkhindi
and travelled all over the world with the band. He is also part of the “LAYA LAHARI” and “LAYA LAVANYA” percussion ensemble, lead by the ace mridangam
artiste Vidwan Anoor Ananthkrishna Sharma.

He is been training many young tabla enthusiasts at “Sanjog Bansuri
Mahavidyalaya”, a music school started by his father Pt. Venkatesh Godkhindi.
He holds a diploma in computer engineering, and has been busy working from his
home studio, and producing a variety of music for different purposes like jingles, title songs, dramas, re-recordings for T.V. serials and films, music for meditation,
voice over, and lot more.
